For those who have not seen, a Farnborough North End stalwart was presented with an award for his long services to football.  John Marchment, former Secretary (amongst other jobs!!!), can be seen receiving his award from the Wessex League for Services to Football. Farnborough North End will always be grateful for services over the years and continued support to date, but are pleased that his endeavours have been recognised outside of the club.

Well done John from the committee and all of the playing staff at FNE FC.

If anyone is interested, take a look at the Wessex League website (http://www.wessexleague.co.uk/) where John can be seen receiving his reward from league representative Ian Craig.

Farnborough north end 1 United services 1
The Versatile Peter Millington-Lee who was centre half last Wednesday, played up front today earning North End a point with an equalizer on 55 minutes and nearly won the game in the dying minutes only to be thwarted by Peter Houkes in the United Services goal. After the great performance against Hythe you would of thought North End would have carried on where they left off but it was United Services who seemed to settle better in the opening minutes.  On 5 minutes North End keeper James Markham had a hairy moment when the home side were unable to clear their lines.  It looked more like the Oxford wall game with a great melee of players in the 6 yard box.  North End’s first real chance came after 16 minutes when Aaron King broke into the US box but delayed his shot and the goalkeeper easily saved.  On 18 minutes US took a quick free kick from the half way line which sailed straight down the throat of the North End defence who seemed to be caught very square.  The US striker Mark Robinson was onto the pass in a flash and Markham in the North End goal was caught in no mans land.  Robinson had no problem in slotting the ball home to give the away side the lead.  The goal seemed to wake North End up and Peter Millington-Lee had a fantastic strike from the edge of the box which Houkes the US keeper had to leap at full stretch, tipping the ball with his finger tips from just under the cross bar.  Then on 25 minutes US should have gone further ahead when Ed Richardson who has an amazing Rory Delap type of throw caused confusion between North Ends Paul Duff and Keeper Markham.  The ball landing at the feet of the US forward who missed from 3 yards out.  Aaron King who was a constant threat was again put through by Grant Stevens but a last gasp tackle from the US number 4 thwarted his run.
